Label TextThe poster and book cover design for Songs From Vagabondia was created by Thomas Buford Meteyard, an Impressionist landscape painter who had studied with Monet. He was probably drawn to this commission by his friendship with the poets Bliss Carman and Richard Hovey, the authors of two collections of poems under the title Vagabondia, whom he met in 1889. His cover for the Vagabondia book, also seen on the poster, is a portrait of himself with Carman and Hovey.
