BiographyThomas Meteyard was an American Impressionist painter who was heavily influenced by the work of Whistler and Monet. He was born in Illinois and educated in Chicago as well at Harvard University. Meteyard additionally spent time in England and Paris furthering his artistic studies under artists such as Bonnat. He continued to travel and exhibit in Europe throughout the early 1890s.

As an illustrator, Meteyard experimented with Japanese inspired forms and the Art Nouveau style.
