Label TextNoting the success of poster campaigns by national magazines, some newspapers also printed posters. The newspaper publishers, however, rarely employed artists working in modern styles. New York’s Morning Journal was an exception, hiring the English-born Louis Rhead to execute a series of posters in 1895-96. Rhead worked in an Art Nouveau style that emphasized flat color and pattern.
