Label TextJean Dubinsky was the daughter of labor leader David Dubinsky, president of the International Ladies' Garment Workers' Union and later vice president of the A.F.L.–C.I.O. Sloan met her when he was commissioned to paint her father's portrait. This was one of Sloan's favorite late portraits.
