Label TextPainted in Chadds Ford, this image includes the John Chadd House in the distance. The silhouette to the right of the tree trunk is local resident Allan Lynch. The tree, which Wyeth called “the hawk tree” was a persistent point of interest. The artist painted it more than once, perhaps as a way of getting to know it.
