Label TextDaniel Sprick's stunning portraits and still lifes convey the artist's intense and studied observation of the world and moments in which he finds himself living. Sprick's Two Nudes is from a series of portraits and self-portraits the artist completed over the last several years. The uniform whitish-yellow background and the detail with which the sitters' features are rendered evoke the paintings of the Dutch Baroque master, Rembrandt van Rijn (1606–1669). It is with an equally earnest and appraising eye that Sprick portrays the essence of each figure.
