Label TextAfter studying art in New York and Paris, Barbara Schwinn Jordan began her career as a fashion artist for department stores, which led her to assignments at Vogue and McCall's. She also illustrated for Collier's and The Saturday Evening Post. Later she was well-known for portraiture. This subject reflects fashion trends of the 1950s, including the popularity of the beret and the short, gamine hairstyle.
