American painter and etcher, 1841–1914
BiographyA member of the artistic Moran family, Peter spent his career primarily in Philadelphia and was best known for his pastoral paintings and etchings, especially images of cows and sheep. Moran also painted images of the American West and Southwest and developed an abiding interest in Native American culture.
