Larry Dinkin

American painter, born 1943
BiographyLarry Dinkin was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1943 and studied at Pratt Institute, the School of Visual Arts, and the City College of New York. The artist began as a traditional landscape painter before adopting an abstract approach in the late 1990s. The results are dreamlike images, which the artist explains, "depict a personal universe—distilled landscapes bound only by their own reality." Dinkin's work is in the permanent collections of the Birmingham Museum of Art, the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, and the San Diego Museum of Art, among others.
