BiographyVictor Cassien (1808-1834) was born in Grenoble, the son of painter Théodore Ravanat. He trained as a painter but is best known for his lithographic work. His images appear in several texts including the Album du Dauphiné (1835-39), 192 plates, on which he collaborated with Alexandre Debelle; the Album historique et pittoresque du département de Saône-et-Loire, par une réunion d'artistes et d'écrivains, (1842-1843), 42 plates; and Ornithologie du Dauphiné (1843), 72 plates.Person TypeIndividual
