Arthur William Hall

American printmaker, 1889–1981
BiographyBorn in Bowie, Texas, Hall grew up in Oklahoma and Virginia and attended the Art Institute of Chicago. In 1925 Hall and his wife Norma Bassett traveled through Europe studying and sketching. The Halls befriended English etcher E. S. Lumsden who taught them printmaking. The Halls lived in Kansas and participated in the Prairie Printmakers group before settling in New Mexico in 1944.
