Carol Westfall

American fiber artist and professor, 1938–2016
BiographyKnown for her textile art, Carol Westfall studied at the Rhode Island School of Design and Maryland Institute College of Art, and taught at Montclair State University. She was the recipient of a Fulbright fellowship, and participated in exhibitions and art fairs at the Textile Museum in Washington DC, and the Contemporary Tapestry Museum in Angers, France. Her work is noted for its incorporation of international styles of weaving and manufacturing as well as its exploration of contemporary social issues.
