BiographySusanna Steig (née Shatkin) is best known for her realistic scenes of domestic interiors. She resided in Brooklyn and exhibited extensively throughout the 1970s and early 1980s in New York. Solo exhibitions of her work were held at the Prince Street Gallery in 1976 and 1978. Steig's paintings were included in the 1974 Report from Soho show at Grey Art Gallery, the Butler Institute of Art's 40th Annual Midyear Show in 1975, Forum Gallery's 14 Still Life Painters in 1978, The New American Still Life show at Westmorland Museum of American Art in 1979, and Brooklyn Center of Long Island University's Women Artists Living in Brooklyn show in 1980.
