BiographyIsaac Walton Taber was born in New Bedford, Massachusetts. He studied at Cooper Union and excelled at pen and ink work. Taber was known primarily as an illustrator of Civil War scenes, created from photographs and published in Century Magazine's series of articles written by surviving participants from both Union and Confederates sides.
