Lynda Schmid

American artist, born 1953

BiographyLynda Schmid received an undergraduate degree in English and a master of fine arts degree in painting from the University of Iowa before becoming an active participant in the contemporary art community in the greater Wilmington area in the early 1980s. She has exhibited extensively throughout the region in solo and group exhibitions and has held positions with the Delaware Contemporary and Delaware Institute for the Arts in Education. Schmid has taught at the Delaware College of Art and Design since its founding in 1997. The Delaware Art Museum presented a solo exhibition of Schmid's paintings in 1984.
