Label TextThis poster was the result of one of the earliest poster competitions in America. Based on the success of Grasset's poster for one of the issues in The Century's serialization of Sloane's History of Napoleon I, the magazine's publishers held a competition in France. The artists were French; the judges were members of the French Academy.
