Label TextThis is a 1903 advertising poster for Lovey Mary, a story serialized in Century Magazine before its publication as a book. The story was a sequel to the best-selling novel Mrs. Wiggs and the Cabbage Patch, which centered on characters in a run-down Kentucky community. Here Mrs. Wiggs (at right) consoles the orphan Lovey Mary (at left) in front of a ramshackle building. A related illustration appears at right.
