Label TextThis is a portrait of Anshutz's friend and fellow artist, the wood engraver Albert M. Lindsay. Unfinished, it was kept by the artist until after his death, at which time it was given to the sitter. In a letter to Mr. Lindsay by Anshutz's widow, she noted: "Tom always intended you to have it. It did not satisfy him, but he said that it did have some of your character in it."
