Label TextLebduska studied stained glass and decorating, but was self-taught as a painter. His flat, colorful paintings of farms and animals found favor with American dealers and collectors interested in folk art and Americana in the late 1930s and early 1940s. This picture appears to depict a scene in Bohemia where Lebduska, born in Baltimore, Maryland, lived as a child and a young man.
