Label TextBourne was a British engraver who primarily produced reproductions of works of art by other artists. In this case his print is based on a painted copy in the Royal Collection of a painting in the Louvre by the Dutch painter Quinten Matsys (1466–1530). Bourne's reproductive engravings frequently appeared in the London-based periodical, the Art Journal.
