Label TextThis exquisite and complex necklace includes on either side of the pendant portraits of the famous Russian dancers Anna Pavlova and Vaslav Nijinsky. Pavlova's panel opens up to reveal a quotation from Omar Khayyam's "The Rubaiyat." Despite the obvious technical craftsmanship, very little is known about the maker, Cecilia Adams, as is the case for so many of the female artists of the Arts and Crafts Movement.
