Label TextWyeth described the subject: "I remember that day I lifted the door leading to the bell tower. I saw the small patch of blue sky; everything else was dark, except for that blue of the New England sky and the decorative ornament on the outside of the tower painted white. I like the contrast of the painted ornament which was so like Maine, clean and painted white, with the interior of the bell tower, which was dark, unpainted wood."
