Label TextTony Robbin is a founder of the Pattern and Decoration (P&D) art movement of the 1970s. P&D artists integrated a variety of decorative sources—such as American quilts and Islamic tiles—into their large-scale paintings. Robbin explores symmetrical atomic structures in his paintings and sculptures, creating ordered, organic forms that produce the impression of depth on a two-dimensional surface.
