Label TextThere are two known versions of this self portrait. The second version is executed in color. This charcoal on paper is the only black and white portrait by the artist known to exist.
Spartali Stillman modeled for various artists of the Pre Raphaelite circle. In 1864, she began training as a painter with Ford Madox Brown.
