Label TextGrasset's poster for an exhibition of his own art depicts an image like one of his subjects - a young woman artist contemplating the flower she is about to render. Although trained as an architect, Swiss-born Grasset moved to Paris in 1871 and eventually became famous for his graphic art. The Salon des Cent ("Salon of the One Hundred") publicized itself from 1894 to 1900 as a constantly changing exhibition of its members' color posters, prints, and reproductions, sold to the general public at reasonable prices.
