Label TextIn the 1890s, newspapers occasionally published "women's editions" of their papers. The Women's Edition of the Buffalo Courier, released on May 8, 1895, was written, illustrated, and edited by women. A portion of the proceeds of the sale of the paper went to charity. The Courier published several self-congratulatory articles about the issue in the weeks before and after its release.
