Label TextA master technician, Lisa Bartolozzi uses the nude to explore basic aspects of humanity. In her work, "male archetypes of 'the wise old man,' 'the strong man,' 'the fool,' 'the prophet,' 'the fallen man,' and 'the fallen angel'" inhabit vast, isolated landscapes. Her dark palette, dramatic lighting, and precise modeling of the human form recall the style of Renaissance and Baroque religious paintings.
