Label TextThe brilliant, multilingual Walter Pach was a painter, writer, and advisor to major collectors. He was a significant force in importing and interpreting modern European and Mexican art for the New York art world. Friends since the early 20th century, Pach and Sloan shared interests in Native American art and the Society of Independent Artists. By the time this was drawn, both were grand old men of the New York art scene.
