Label TextElbert Hubbard's magazine The Philistine was published in East Aurora, New York. Hubbard used the magazine to rail at editors and publishers who turned down his books and at his critics. A surprisingly large number of readers subscribed to The Philistine. It had the longest life of any of the little magazines beginning publication in June 1895 and ceasing in July 1915.
