Label TextThe name of the Wyeths' pet poodle was Elouise Seabreeze. Wyeth opens his letter to William Phelps with an observation:"This little black face has just appeared out from under my covers at the foot of my bed wondering what the hell I am doing."
He stops his letter when he hears another one of his dogs demanding attention.
Such warm, matter-of-fact exchanges with the Phelps's relate the most fleeting occurrences of Wyeth's day and read like diary entries.
