Label TextThe name of the Wyeths' pet poodle was Elouise Seabreeze. Wyeth opens his letter to William Phelps with an observation:

He stops his letter when he hears another one of his dogs demanding attention.

The name of the Wyeths' pet poodle was Elouise Seabreeze. Wyeth opens his letter to William Phelps with an observation; "This little black face has just appeared out from under my covers at the foot of my bed wondering what the hell I am doing." Such warm, matter-of-fact exchanges with the Phelps's relate the most fleeting occurrences of Wyeth's day and read like diary entries.
