Label TextThis watercolor sketch followed the two pages depicting Wyeth's approach to the Teel house. It narrates the emotional and sensory thrill of his entrance into the deserted house. Below the sketch he wrote, "The smell of this house is all New England to me. The blue of this wood box and the black of this wood stove."
