American illustrator and sculptor, 1868–1947
BiographyBoston-based artist Louis Meynell was active as an illustrator in the late 19th and early 20th century. He studied at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. Eventually he established himself as a sculptor, and President Theodore Roosevelt sat for a bas-relief portrait by Meynell in 1908.
