BiographyMiriam Beerman received her arts degree from Rhode Island School of Design and studied with Morris Kantor at the Arts Students League in New York and with Stanley William Hayter in Paris. Her expressionist prints and paintings explore the human condition, war, death, and disaster. Beerman was the first woman to receive a solo exhibition at the Brooklyn Museum in 1971, and her work is in the permanent collections of the Brooklyn Museum, the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Jewish Museum in New York, and the Victoria and Albert Museum, among many others.
