BiographyBurr was an American printmaker and painter best known for his etchings and drypoints of the landscape of the American West. Born in Ohio, Burr studied briefly at the Art Institute of Chicago. He worked as an illustrator for many magazines, including Harper's Monthly, Scribner's Magazine, and Frank Leslie's Weekly.
