Henry Peacock

American artist, 1926–2002
BiographyHenry Peacock studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and taught at the Philadelphia College of Art (now University of the Arts) and the Delaware Art Museum. In 1957, he founded the Delaware Valley Art Foundation and is recognized for his involvement in Philadelphia's Percent for Art program, which requires public construction projects to dedicate a portion of funds for the creation of public sculpture. Peacock wrote a guide for working artists, entitled Art as Expression, published in 1995.
