Jerome Kaplan

American printmaker, 1920–1997
BiographyJerome Kaplan served as chair and professor of the Printmaking Department at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia and was an active member of the Print Club. In 1961, he received a Guggenheim Fellowship in recognition of his Portfolio of White House Etchings, created for President Jimmy Carter. Kaplan is considered instrumental in advancing contemporary printmaking, and his work is included in the Museum of Modern Art, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, and the British Museum, among others.
