BiographyWilliam Howson Taylor (1875-1935) was born in Lincoln and died in Ashprington, Devon. He was the son of Edward Richard Taylor, the Principle of the Birmingham School of Art, who founded the Ruskin Pottery. William took over the running of the firm in 1898. He developed a series of innovative glazes for which the pottery became renowned.
