BiographyBoston artist Sears Gallagher studied privately before traveling to Paris to work at the Academie Julian. Upon his return to Boston, he worked as a newspaper illustrator before establishing himself as a painter and etcher. He specialized in marine subjects and depicted historic landmarks of Boston in a series of etchings.
