BiographyA native of Kentucky, Young attended the University of Louisville with the intention of earning a degree in physics before switching to fine arts. He moved to Washington, D.C. in 1964, and a solo exhibition of his work was held at the Corcoran Gallery of Art in 1973. Numerous exhibitions followed including retrospectives at Bethesda Fine Art in 2017 and American University’s Katzen Arts Center in 2019. As well as the visual arts, he worked in exhibition design for the Smithsonian Institution and the Duke Ellington School of Art. Young’s work is included in the collections of the Smithsonian American Art Museum, among others.
