Label TextThis print betrays Sloan's short-lived interest in the etchings of James A. M. Whistler. Whistler was very famous for his flamboyant persona and his art. Like many progressive, young artists in the United States, Sloan and his friend William Glackens were great admirers of Whistler in the mid-1890s.
