Label TextEffie Stillman was the daughter of the pre-Raphaelite painter Marie Spartali Stillman (1865-1946). Like her father, William James Stillman, and step-mother, she chose a career as an artist. Charles Fairfax Murray was a close friend to the Stillman family and knew Effie from her childhood.
