Label TextThis image is a bit of a puzzle. It came to the museum with unknown authorship, although the owner suggested it might be by Dante Gabriel Rossetti. Curators do not agree, and are in fact more in favor as an American illustrator as author -- perhaps in the circle of the Red Rose Girls. However, at this time, the artist has not been satisfactorily identified.
