Label TextThe subject is probably Mary Shaw (1854–1929), a Broadway actress and playwright, who performed in important and controversial modern plays, including works by Ibsen and Shaw. A feminist and a suffragette, Shaw met the Sloans with Yeats in the summer of 1910.
