Label TextIn this story, a young man who works in New York City and considers himself quite sophisticated is unexpectedly smitten when he vacations in the country. This is his first encounter with the woman he falls in love with, after he catches her escaped lamb. He finds her very lack of sophistication attractive; she admires how he adapts to rural life.
By the story's end, they are engaged and planning to make a life together on her farm.
