It allows the viewer to imagine a plot involving the serenader and his pensive listener at a campground.A native of Utah, Geroge Watson Barratt was an advertising artist when he heard Howard Pyle lecture at the Art Students League in New York City. After studying with Pyle in 1908, Barratt went on to a career in illustration, mural painting, and theatrical design.
