Label TextAlthough this drawing is clearly inscribed "Pablo de Segovia," the subject resembles the Spanish classical guitarist Andrés Segovia, who toured the United States regularly, including visits to New York in 1928, 1931, and 1935. Pablo de Segovia was the protagonist of a picaresque novel by Francisco de Quevedo-Villegas.
