Label TextIn this story of New England, Polly Ann marries the sailor on her right, to the desolation of the wood-carver on her left. Time passes, and the ship bearing Polly Ann's figurehead and name is wrecked. An old man remarks while passing the derelict ship, "She was an unlucky craft, they do say," unwittingly commenting on the tragedies of life in a sea-faring village.
