Label TextWhitefriars Glassworks was somewhat unusual in their production of a broad range of products from purely functional to decorative. In 1873 Harry Powell, trained as a chemist, began his tenure at Whitefriars introducing a new range of innovative designs. This Goblet glass is an example of their “Venetian” style tableware modeled after designs found in 16th century Murano glassware.
