Label TextThis young woman is a member of Victory Girls, an organization that was part of the larger United War Work Campaign, which facilitated soldiers' access to entertainments such as movies, museums, and gymnasiums throughout the country. The Campaign also secured invitations to homes, allowing soldiers to meet chaperoned girls, such as the wholesome subject of the poster. The goal was to safeguard the military from what were seen as the twin threats of immorality and venereal disease.
